Meditation is an important part of the whole yogic domain. Best effects of meditation are achieved after performing yogic practices when the body is little tired and needs rest and relaxation. In yogic practices you are with your body whereas in meditation practice you are with your body and mind together. It is not possible to separate the two. The one who is into yogic practices must follow meditation as well. The two are complimentary to each other.
